Summit Rock is led by Mr. René-François Cervantes who has extensive experience in investment management and wealth creation utilizing alternative investments such as Hedge Funds, VC funds, Pre-IPO Investments, 1031 Exchanges, and non-traded REITS. He has significant, relevant experience in Corporate Finance and Private Equity. He has also worked in advisory services helping companies successfully access the capital markets via initial public offerings (IPOs) as well as in Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A).
René has served as an Adjunct Professor of Finance and Accounting at both U.C. Berkeley and Foothill College. He holds a B.S. Chemistry degree from U.C. Berkeley and an MBA from Santa Clara University with a focus in Financial Engineering.
He is registered with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as a Securities Broker and Registered Representative (CRD #: 6533725). He also holds registration with both the State of California and the State of Nevada as a Financial Advisor and is licensed to deal in insurance investment products within the State of California (License #: 0L13580).
A Member of the Community
A California native, René has strong ties to the California farming community within the Central Valley. Prior to entering business school, he co-founded Assemco, Inc., a Nevada electronics manufacturer of Avionics and DRAM memory products formerly located in Sunnyvale, CA and employing up to 250 people.
As a competitive skier and an avid golfer, René helps fund programs to make these sports accessible to under-priviliged youth. He is active in suporting STEM education in under-represented communities, and he has served as Finance Chair on the Board of Directors of Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Santa Clara County.
René is a regular sponsor of the Saint Simon Parish School Annual Golf Tournament in Los Altos, CA. With a passion for education and life-long learning, he has served as a volunteer teacher, providing Health, Nutrition, and Science Education at Migrant Farm Labor Camps under the State of California Mini-Corps Program.
